Cameron Boyce was born on May 28, 1999.[1] He began a modeling career at the age of seven, appearing in the Disney Store catalog, and was subsequently featured in print campaigns for Garnet Hill, Wilsons Leather, Jakks Pacific, Nestlé and K-Mart.[1] He has also trained in various styles of dance, including breaking, hip-hop, modern, jazz, tap and ballet.[1]

Career

In 2007, Boyce began his acting career at the age of eight, appearing in commercials for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, Fruit Loops, and Bisquick.[2] He made his music video debut the following year in the Panic! at the Disco video for the song "That Green Gentleman" as a mini Ryan Ross, and later went on to appear in Ice Cube’s music video for "Ya’ll Know How I Am" and Willow Smith’s music video for "Whip My Hair."[1][3]

In July 2008, Boyce made his television debut with a recurring role as "Michael 'Stone' Cates Jr." on the nighttime soap opera General Hospital: Night Shift.[4] In August of that year, he made his feature film debut with a co-starring role in the horror film Mirrors, as well as appearing in the mystery-thriller film Eagle Eye that fall.[5][6] In June 2010, Boyce co-starred as "Keith Feder", the spoiled son of Adam Sandler in the comedy film Grown Ups, and appeared later that same year showing off his dance skills on the web series The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers.[7][8]

In April 2011, Boyce made a guest-appearance on the Disney Channel series, Good Luck Charlie and later that same month he was one of the featured dancers in a Royal Wedding tribute on ABC's Dancing with the Stars.[1] In June of that year, he had a small role as one of Judy's classmates in the family comedy film Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and in August, he was one of the featured dancers on the Disney Channel series Shake It Up.[1][9]

In September 2011, Boyce landed a co-starring role on the Disney Channel comedy series, Jessie as 12-year-old adopted son and mischievous funnyman, "Luke Ross".[10] During pre-production of the show, the role of "Luke" was originally intended to be a boy named "Hiro" adopted from Korea, but casting directors were impressed with Boyce during the audition process, and ultimately decided to recreate the role specifically for him.[11][12]

Personal life

Boyce lives in the Los Angeles area with his mother, father, younger sister and dog, Cienna.[1] He is an accomplished dancer and his favorite style of dance is breakdancing.[1] Along with his four friends, he is a member of the dance crew "X Mob."[1] When he isn't busy acting and dancing, Boyce enjoys basketball and playing games on his Xbox 360.[1]
